Responsibilities:
For those products within your assigned portfolio:
Development of the Reliability Program Plan for avionics products including the design, production and field phases of the product life cycle.
Develop methods and measures of reliability performance based on customer and contractual requirements
Perform reliability and maintainability predictions of electronic equipment. Conduct Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) at the system, product and sub-product level
Use the following reliability improvement tools:
Fault tree analysis
Electrical and thermal stress analysis
Electronic component de-rating methods
Accelerated stress testing techniques including HALT, HASS, and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
Root Cause Analysis
Prepare reports, charts and diagrams to communicate analysis results and highlight areas for corrective action
Monitor field reliability performance and drive improvement through a Field Failure, Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process.
Electronic component obsolescence management: including monitoring and identification of alternate parts.
Review new designs and recommend component selection based on cost, reliability and availability.
Maintain product life cycle assessment for all active products.
Skills/Requirements:
Requires a BS degree or higher in one of the following; electrical engineering, statistics, mechanical engineering or physics
5+ years of experience in reliability/component engineering.
Familiarity with reliability prediction, FAA and MIL standards.
Knowledge of failure analysis methods
Aviation or Aerospace experience preferred.
