This position is responsible for executing experiments to evaluate strains and develop robust, scalable fermentation processes for the economic production of renewable chemicals and biofuels. In collaboration with other team members, the candidate will help design and develop solutions to complex culturing and process challenges, with a focus on aseptic operations, culture productivity, medium development, technology transfer and process scale-up to an industrial setting. Makes detailed observations, analyzes and interprets results, prepares and presents reports. Suggests and implements new methods, techniques or ideas for project advancement. Independently evaluates, selects and applies scientific techniques and methodology to design innovative approaches to scientific problems. Interacts across the organization to help develop robust industrial strains and processes, including procedural and intellectual property documentation. The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in Chemical Engineering/Microbiology or a related field, and 2-4 years? experience in industrial microbiology/biotechnology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Demonstrated hands-on technical knowledge and proficiency in microbiology, process engineering or fermentation. Experience with analysis of complex scientific data, and communication of results and conclusions. Demonstrated effective execution of project work under tight schedules, including some rotating evening hours, and the ability to troubleshoot/adapt new process technology as required. | Location: | 5541 Central Avenue Boulder, CO 80301 United States |
