Senior Research Associate, Virology 3-V Biosciences
3-V Biosciences is looking for a highly motivated, experienced individual who will work closely with our team of scientists to design, develop, conduct and interpret cell-based and molecular biology assays to support our antiviral drug discovery and pre-clinical development programs. This senior research associate will have the opportunity to participate in lead optimization, mechanism of action and drug resistance studies. The successful candidate will possess the following job requirements:
BS or MS in Virology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry with 5 or more years of industrial work experience.
Experience designing and developing cell-based and molecular biology screening assays to measure efficacy of lead compounds and to characterize compound mechanism of action.
Laboratory experience with a variety of techniques in Virology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, including cell culture using immortalized and primary cell lines, immunostaining, quantitative microscopy/imaging, PCR, quantitative RT-PCR, primer design, sequencing and Western blot analysis.
Laboratory experience in the amplification and titration of animal viruses. Experience utilizing TCID50 and plaque assays.
Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including analysis of complex data sets and proficiency with associated computational methods and software programs such as GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office for generating study reports.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment.
