Aptean is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to play a key role assisting in the accurate recognition and recording of software license revenue. The Senior Revenue Accountant will ensure all associated GL revenue accounts are reconciled timely and accurately. This position reports to the Director of Revenues and Receivables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contract review and analysis for software license agreements
Works directly with Sales and Professional Services teams to understand revenue implications of new contracts
Reconciliation and ad hoc reporting of revenue metrics, to be used for reporting to key stakeholders
Technical revenue recognition document
Works directly with outside auditors for the financial statement audit.
Performs quarterly analysis of VSOE testing, and assists global teams with VSOE studies
Assists in other aspects of financial and accounting practices in revenues and accounts receivables including forecasting, variance analysis, monthly close, and accounting policies and procedures.
Required Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance
CPA or equivalent
Minimum of three to five years of experience, preferably from Big 4
Strong US GAAP, ASC 985-605 and ASC 605-25 experience
Must have prior experience working closely with software sales organization
Required Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Thorough knowledge of SEC and IRS reporting requirements
Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
The ideal candidate will have experience in software revenue recognition
