Senior Revenue Accountant:
We are continuously looking for talented people interested in working in a fast-paced, cutting edge environment. Our Finance Team is currently seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate for this role will be the expert in Fieldglass? revenue recognition policy and will provide consultation and expertise on revenue accounting. Responsibilities also include:
Support the Revenue team by researching and analyzing revenue recognition issues, including identifying key risk areas, contemplating alternatives, and providing recommendations.
Track, evaluate and document revenue recognition treatment, escalating actions when required.
Assist with contract negotiation by participating in discussions, reviewing draft contracts, and providing recommendations to maximize upfront revenue recognition.
Act as revenue recognition subject matter expert and ensure that all revenue transactions meet the criteria of the Company?s revenue recognition policy.
Maintain internal controls with respect to revenue recognition and ensure that testing of both the design and effectiveness of such controls is successfully completed in a timely manner.
Develop process documentation for assigned responsibilities.
Review and approve the work of other team members and provide guidance.
Maintain deferred revenue schedules and reconciliations.
Interact with Sales, Legal, and Professional Services to understand and resolve revenue recognition issues; assist in providing training and guidance as needed.
Liaise with Corporate Revenue Recognition team on complex transactions and offer input on ways to structure deals to maximize upfront revenue recognition.
Preparation of revenue recognition memos.
Research and advise on changes in accounting literature and the impact such changes have on the Company?s business environment.
Maintain a current level of expertise relating to professional standards and emerging industry and technical developments in the area of revenue recognition.
Perform quarterly testing on revenue recognition assumptions including VSOE, fair value, and floor prices.
We?re Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
5 years? accounting or finance experience is recommended
CPA is strongly recommended
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
Experience with revenue recognition, preferably in the software industry
Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
Able to meet strict deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
Proficient with MS Word and Excel
Proactive and self-driven with the ability to think creatively within a flexible environment
NetSuite or similar accounting system experience is a plus but not required
