Senior Revenue Accountant Zonare Medical Systems

The Senior Revenue Accountant has the responsibility for articulation and accounting of ZONARE?s GAAP compliant revenue. Reporting to the Manager, Sales Operations and Revenue, this key contributor will be responsible to enhance current revenue recognition processes so that ZONARE will be compliant with the reporting requirements of its new parent Mindray Medical International, and will be tasked with implementing software solutions that will facilitate rev rec accounting in light of the anticipated growth the division expects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and update revenue recognition policy in support of new products and/or changes in accounting standards.
Maintain the revenue recognition files, post the domestic GAAP revenue and Cost of Goods Sold
Provide product and gross margin reporting and analysis, variance analysis to budget, and versus prior year.
Analyze, recommend and implement software tools to provide the foundation for revenue recognition accounting for years to come.
Provide ad hoc order and revenue reporting as required
Backlog reconciliation, analysis and reporting
Support the month end accounting close by preparing a variety of reports, reconciliations and journal entries.
Track and follow up of training installation certificates, delivery documents and revenue related acceptances.
Calculate service contracts revenue and review all service related revenue.
Perform BESP/VSOE for company products, PCS, and multiple elements.
Record development, royalty, and other miscellaneous revenue
Calculate revenue-related outbound royalties.
Review non-revenue related invoicing and credit transactions for service.
Assist with special projects as requested. (e.g., audit support)
REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS
Minimum 4 years revenue recognition accounting experience.
College degree in accounting or finance.
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work and deliver on commitments in a fast paced environment.
Understanding of revenue recognition guidance such as ASC 985-605, ASC 605-25, ASU-2009-13, and ASU-2009-14 would be preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Must be very organized with the ability to effectively multi-task.
Must be detailed, thorough, consistent and good at following up with both customers and management.
Ability to work well with people is a must. Superior interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal are essential.
Self-motivated; independent decision maker with good problem solving skills.
High Integrity is a must.
Experience with the Internet and database software solutions for revenue recognition a plus, Great Plains experience would be helpful.
