Senior Revenue Accountant Responsys

The senior revenue accountant will be working on the revenue team within the finance department. The revenue team is responsible for the operational accounting and reporting related to the software as a service (SaaS) business revenue recognition process including contract reviews, revenue recognition conclusions, final accounting entries and the monthly close process.Duties:
Review subscription order forms and determine the appropriate revenue amortization schedule
Responsible for monthly commission calculations, including
continuous process improvement of efficiency and accuracy,
create appropriate forms/templates,
review calculations,
communicate and answer questions with/from the sales team
Participate in month end close process by:
prepare and review various revenue related journal entries
review revenue and deferred revenue balances
perform month end reviews and analyses in order to comply with SOX controls
Participate in new revenue module planning and implementation efforts
Initiate and execute process/procedure refinement and documentation across revenue department
Support revenue team by assisting in other various revenue projects, training efforts, and auditor support
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in accounting
2-4 years of experience (Big 4 public accounting experience preferred)
CPA or CPA in progress preferred
Experience in software industry revenue recognition (software as a service model a plus)
Experience in public company preferred
Knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting literature, including SAB 104, SOP 97-2, EITF 08-01.
Ability to understand legal contracts
Highly detailed and organizational skills required
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot tables, etc.) required
Experience with Oracle, Leeyo and/or Appirio a plus
