Job Description:
Responsible for the recruitment, selection, retention, and motivation of all District / Division / Regional Sales Managers for one half of the company's territories. Coaches and mentors Managers in managing their people, and achieving account goals. Develops account growth and retention strategies along with the Vice President of Sales.
Job Responsibilities:
? Must have complete understanding of product, pricing and proposal models to effectively train sales teams; trains/mentors sales managers and staff to better create and conduct effective educational programs and presentations
? Must be able to manage relationships with company executives, key clients, physicians, and laboratories within the region
? Serves as a consultant to the Vice President of Sales on key growth strategies and Sales management issues
? Must manage budget, quota forecast, and all other applicable forecasts within the regions
? Must communicate effectively. Able to motivate and lead teams effectively
? Maintains accurate sales records of all sales team and keeps track of prospects in specified areas
? Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
? Manages account services through quality checks and other follow-up; identifies and resolves client concerns
? Consistently meets performance standards and executes sales plans for new business and growing existing accounts in a multi-state region? Must be available for air travel an average of three (3) days per week
? Coordinates with other company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales
? Participates in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, conferences, or other events
? Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
1. Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree required; experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or laboratory sales is mandatory; emphasis in cardiology/diabetes is preferred. Work requires a minimum of three (3) successful years experience in regional sales management and a minimum of five (5) years experience in either direct sales or business development in a healthcare environment (i.e. laboratory, hospital, etc.). A history in managing representatives who call on Internal Medicine, Family Practice, OB/GYN, and cardiology practices is preferred; must have documented track record of success and high performance; consistent top performer in current position.
2. Technical Skills:
Computer Skills - Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Customer Relationship Management software programs
Mathematical Skills - Ability to evaluate the financial aspects of the sales cycle: reports, call numbers, budget projections, profit-loss projections, pricing
