Job Description :
The role of the Senior Sales Engineer is to become a product expert and regularly interface with customers and executives in order to sell, support, and demonstrate the product within the customers? environments. The Senior Sales Engineer will learn the technical details of our solutions and will translate their functions into features and benefits that matter to our customers and end users. The Senior Sales Engineer will become an expert at system operation and fault isolation and remediation procedures of a complex hardware and software platform. This includes delivering presentations to the customer, training the end user and training the administrator on maintenance procedures. The Senior Sales Engineer is also responsible for providing feedback, lessons learned, and design modification recommendations to the headquarters-based Product Management and Engineering teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Become a systems expert on all DSC products and software tools
Become an expert in communicating the DSC corporate vision, background, product features and benefits and product roadmaps to high level customers and executives
Regularly interface with Product Management & Engineering
Setup of equipment at customer/conference sites
In-field troubleshooting/root cause analysis
Isolate system computer/network issues, repair and restore computer hardware and servers when necessary
Load software and validate system operations
Present (written and verbal) technical findings and justification for recommended hardware/software changes to assist Product Management/Engineering with the following:
Testing, troubleshooting and system optimization
Assist in developing technical user/admin documentation for the operation and control of systems
Process controls and controller software functional requirements development
Accurately document all tasks and troubleshooting activities as they are performed
Assist in making corrections and improvements to procedures
A BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related subject and minimum of 8 years related sales/field engineering support experience. Experience can be substituted for the Technical Degree.
Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Blackberry, Windows Server environment and Database (e.g. SQL, postgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) configuration and management
Ability to communicate effectively with DSC Management/Engineering and Customers by e-mail, phone, and in person.
Fluency with, and the ability to troubleshoot, various operator interface devices and programming, networks and communication platforms
Experience working in a fast paced, constantly expanding and changing environment
Must be willing to work extra hours as needed to meet business goals.
Good organization, multi-tasking, communication, time management and documentation skills
Possess valid and current US driver?s license
3-5 years related sales/engineering experience with surveillance/security products
Use of tools and power equipment. Use of test instruments (ie. volt meters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, electrical schematics, fabrication and assembly drawings.
Bi-lingual in English and Arabic is a huge plus
Regional and cultural experience in the Middle East and/or Europe.
Frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, etc.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens.
Ability to reach within hands and arms length, climb or balance, reach overhead, and crouch.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Ability to operate vehicle/automobile for company errands.
Individual?s primary workstation is located at DSC headquarters with the ability to travel to customer and demonstration sites as necessary.
Individual is expected to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally.
This position requires an individual who is flexible and capable of dealing with sudden changes (e.g. flight delays, clients schedule, etc.). This position requires the individual to carry a company provided cell phone and be able to travel with little notice.
