SENIOR SALES ENGINEER - EAST COAST (#117) Aquion Energy
The Senior Sales Engineer role is responsible for ?owning? assigned sales opportunities and developing and executing strategies to close them - ultimately developing long term, strategic relationships with existing and prospective customers leading to significant sales volume and profitable growth. Proactively work with senior management, marketing, product management, engineering and operations to ensure sales objectives are met and/or exceeded. Provide in-depth knowledge of Aquion Energy and products to customers and partners. Understand the needs of customers/prospects and translate those needs into an optimized energy storage solution utilizing Aquion?s patented AHI batteries.
Ownership of all assigned leads and opportunities from lead qualification through close and on-going account management.
Meeting and / or exceeding all sales budgets, quotas and performance objectives.
Providing regular updates, forecasts, and other data related to the opportunity pipeline in the company CRM system.
Owning the customer experience. Serves as key strategic and technical advisor for assigned customers. Makes recommendations to the operations team to insure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded.
Preparing and delivering detailed product presentations for prospects and existing customers.
Partnering with engineering and operations to respond to RFPs and conduct pre-sales discussions with potential and current customers.
Leading strategy development on all assigned customer sales opportunities. Engages with internal resources as required.
Representing company and presenting Aquion solutions at sales & marketing events and trade shows. Evangelizes the company and associated products to the marketplace.
Mentoring and help training peers as needed on applications and markets.
Proactively assuming responsibility for learning new products and maintaining strong technical knowledge of product features and applications.
In depth product knowledge of energy storage systems, specifically batteries
Deep understanding of electric utility markets, including renewable energy, power generation, and transmission
Proven track record of successful technical sales into the power & energy markets
Strong technical background and understanding of grid scale power & energy products
A passion for sales and customer engagement
Ability to travel extensively as required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. BSEE preferred.
5-10 years successful selling experience into applicable markets
Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence sales, business and technical audiences.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently.
