We?re seeking an astute, energetic and experienced Sales Engineer to work with prospective customers
and our sales team to grow our business. The Sales Engineer is central to our growth and works
alongside our sales team to build and deliver a successful customer pre-sales strategy, execute the
FirstRain solution across a variety of industries, and drive the deal to a close.

position is located in Manhattan, NY or San Mateo, CA and reports to the Director of Customer
Solutions.
Responsibilities:
? Serve as the FirstRain product expert in the field?the go-to technical, solution, and demo
resource for the Sales Representative and customer.
? Work with customers to understand the letter and the spirit of their business challenges, and know
how to bend the FirstRain product to solve their specific needs.
? Gather requirements, validate solution design and execute on the demo/evaluation plans. You are
an active participant in formulating strategic account-team plans, and you take bottom-line
responsibility for executing your part of the plan.
? Build rapport with a variety of personalities and roles across many types of customers and
business sectors. Partner with our operations and engineering team to plan and deliver the
customer?s solution.
? Travel as needed (depending on geographic territory), up to 50% of work schedule.
Qualifications:
? Team Selling ? Experience in team-selling of software / SAAS solutions to business executive
buyers at Fortune 2000 customers.
? Software Solutions ? Minimum of seven years? experience in a pre-sales engineering (sales
engineering or application-engineering role) working with SaaS products, software, Internet
products or B2B solutions to enterprise customers.
? Business judgment ? Able to assess the business problem with the customer and manage your
time and resources.
? High energy ? The idea of being fast doesn?t exhaust you. Set the pace and encourage others to
keep up.
? Persistence ? You visualize what a win looks like and won?t accept less than that.

? Structured thinking ? Can organize questions, issues and ideas into logically consistent
frameworks that quickly generate defensible conclusions from the data at hand.
? Attention to detail ? You have laser-like focus on the business problem we are trying to solve for

? Maturity & Presence ? Can earn respect in an executive audience that may include customer
employees, FirstRain employees, or FirstRain partners.
? Education ? Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Arts degree is required.
