Senior Regional Ad Sales Executive, West (Locations: Los Angeles or San Francisco)

TripIt, is looking for a positive, energetic, confident, dedicated, loyal, and experienced performer in digital and mobile advertising sales to head our West Coast territory. If you are the kind of person that enjoys a challenge and is interested in taking our growing advertising business to the next level through your contribution on our team, then we are looking for you! The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of success in digital and mobile media sales along with solid, current agency contacts within the territory. Beyond that s/he must understand how to think critically, problem-solve on the fly, and take a consultative approach to winning business with clients, both agency and direct. Our growing team needs an energetic self-starter who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing our client base. Must be independent, creative, agile, flexible, dedicated and a team player. Ultimately, you must be results-driven, drive sales accountability and possess the desire to be part of a winning sales organization from the ground up, including rolling up your sleeves to do whatever it takes to make the team successful. This individual contributor sales role will own responsibility for managing every part of our west coast territory. The position will be dedicated to selling advertising solutions on Tripit.com both on the web and in native mobile applications to media agencies and direct to key clients. Candidates must have a deep understanding of the advertising market in their region with a strong agency book of business.
Full sales accountability and revenue responsibility for the west coast regional sales territory including:
Ownership and management towards success of sales targets managing communication to executives through dashboards and regular sales performance summaries.
Pipeline development, strategy and management from start to finish. Proficient use of SFDC is required.
Conduct strategic sales planning meetings with executives to identify opportunities, sales pipeline with quarterly and annual targets.
Manage, renew and cross-sell existing clients.
Prepare proposals and respond to RFP's with a high degree of professionalism, quality and in a timely manner.
Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain an account list of revenue-generating advertisers
Strategize with clients to demonstrate how TripIt can meet marketing objectives via strategic marketing solutions and straight media buys
Develop and cultivate deep relationships at all levels from brand managers and account executives to media buyers
Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
Hit target prospecting and revenue quotas
Pitch new business to advertising agencies and direct clients
Work internally, across departments, to create compelling media solutions for advertisers
Partner with sales marketing manager to update sales presentations and create custom proposals
Identify, position and frame media solutions or straight CPM buys within the context of client marketing/business needs
BA/BS or equivalent
5 or more years of experience in sales, preferably selling digital media.
A confident Sales Superstar
Consistently exceeds sales quotas and goals.
An excellent track record in developing relationships with advertising agencies and national brands.
Have existing relationships with media buying decision makers.
Understand how to create strategic and highly consultative proposals customized to the specific needs of the agency and/or brand.
Present like a champ, close business and know how to negotiate a deal
Have outstanding people skills. Organized. Analytical. Strong self-starter who can manage time wisely.
Self-motivated and can hit the ground running to close deals quickly.
Multi-tasker, with a strong customer service orientation.
Loyal, dedicated, persistent and committed to the vision and objectives for the TripIt advertising business
Strong understanding of demographic and psychographic targeting and brand positioning
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Individual contributor role on a growing team
Periodic travel required within region
Strong written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Be able to articulate client marketing needs and market demand succinctly and effectively
Salesforce ?rock star?, or comparable CRM experience (a must)
Mobile sales experience preferred
Must be a good communicator and skilled at developing relationships through sales outreach
Skilled at prioritizing and managing time effectively
Have a strong work ethic and be able to work remotely
