Job Description
We are seeking an experienced physical scientist to develop innovative imaging, dose computation, large-scale optimization, and treatment planning algorithms in support of ongoing research and development of all aspects of our MRI-guided therapy systems. The ideal candidate should have established a career as an acknowledged innovator in the international radiation therapy medical physics community with expertise in clinical radiation therapy, experimental dosimetry, and/or theoretical modeling. The primary responsibilities are to independently solve problems, recognize opportunities, and drive to success while collaborating with the ViewRay Research & Development teams to define, prototype, and realize new product features and capabilities. In addition, it is expected that the candidate will mentor other employees to gain a better understanding of scientific principles, physics, medical physics, and the clinical use of IGRT and IMRT technologies. Qualifications
PhD in physics, medical physics, applied math, engineering, or related field
Minimum of five years of productive experience in academic therapy medical physics
Distinguished academic record, i.e., peer-reviewed publications and grant funding in the topics of image reconstruction, image guidance, radiation therapy dosimetry, and physics modeling
Programming in C++, C, and FORTRAN
Ability to work in the United States
Desired experience
Postgraduate experience in physics research
Experience in MATLAB programming
Clinical residency or equivalent training and board certification
Experience collaborating with commercial partners
Experience in MRI research or clinical applications
Knowledge of MRI physics and imaging science
Experience in the clinical usage of image-guided and intensity-modulated radiation therapy
