HTG Molecular is seeking a scientist experienced in next generation DNA sequencing to work with a team developing novel sample preparation procedures and cutting edge technology. Ph.D. candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology and NGS, including developing or practicing sample preparation protocols. The successful candidate will work with a team of scientists focused on platform technology research and development for diagnostic applications.Responsibilities:
Perform research demonstrating the feasibility of a new technology platform
Optimize protocol chemistry and conditions
Develop data analysis methods and SOPs
Collaborate with external researchers and technology developers
Mandatory Qualifications:
Education/Training: Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biology or related field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years industrial or independent research experience with next generation sequencing and associated sample preparation, previous industry experience preferred
Demonstrated experience managing time and projects to meet deadlines with proven track record of success
Experience with multiple Next Gen sequencing platforms and in depth knowledge of the chemistry, with hands-on experience developing the chemistry highly desirable
Experience with developing sample preparation methods
Knowledge of (position requirements at entry):

Commercial and research level sample preparation methods
Data analysis methods

Ability to contribute novel ideas to solve problems
Ability to independently carry out objectives and bench research
Ability to make detailed experimental observations, review and analyze data, and interpret experimental results.
