Job Description
Lead the design and development of novel particle-based product candidates
Work in a hands-on, dynamic laboratory environment engaged in design, fabrication, analysis and manufacturing of nanoparticles and microparticles
Perform and lead laboratory experimentation across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including potentially synthesis, characterization of particles by SEM, HPLC, XRD, DLS, DSC and other techniques
Directly responsible for superior technical execution, both through direct experimentation and through supervision of junior technical personnel
Apply scientific methods and observational and critical analysis skills to lead technical efforts
May lead cross-functional team members to generate value-creating results
May be responsible for leading team meetings
Mentor junior employees in scientific methodology
May be responsible for independent internal/external communication
Oversee laboratory operations
Qualifications
Ph.D. with 5+ years post-doctoral experience or industrial experience required
Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences or related field required
Research experience in bionanotechnology, drug delivery, and/or nanofabrication preferred
Strong personal execution and innovative skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Must be a creative, detail oriented person with strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment is essential for success
