Senior Scientist QD Vision
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Senior Scientist position in our Materials Development Department is responsible for leading and growing our R&D and Pilot synthetic QD efforts focused on near term commercialization targets. The goal is to align the development of new QDs with the goals of our Product Development team. The individual will need to partner with other internal resources as necessary to provide, collect, and analyze specific customer requirements and timelines to inform R&D priorities. In addition, experience leading R&D efforts in the area of inorganic materials is highly desired.
Design, create, and implement QD materials with optical properties meeting product demands.
Interface with Product Development and relevant departments to determine key figures of merit affecting system efficiency, color point, color gamut, and reliability.
Acquire and apply new knowledge as required by a dynamic materials development environment.
Ultimately, work with Manufacturing Engineering and to scale new materials to production.
Demonstrated ability to innovate and apply diverse scientific and engineering skill sets to solve complex problems is desired.
Education ? PhD degree in Chemistry or Materials Science
A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial R&D setting:
Nanomaterial synthesis (optical materials)
Semiconductor fabrication (novel techniques)
Inorganic materials synthesis
Strong air-free synthetic skills are highly desired.
Hands-on, can-do individual, willing to take on challenges and drive results is required.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, self managed environment with aggressive goals.
Organized, focused and data driven with an eye toward process development and transitioning research concepts into manufacturing ready technologies.
Strong relationship and organizational skills to effectively work with a positive team approach.
Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and functions of the organization to develop solutions to technical challenges.
Able to both independently manage priorities, and also take direction to change priorities based on the direction of managers and co-workers.
QD Vision Cultural Fit:
Outgoing, team oriented, and capable of disciplined technique and experimental execution. In the QD Vision start up environment, this will require the incumbent to help execute detailed, complete experiments that thoroughly analyze and probe the existing and future materials enhanced optical systems.
Comfortable with changing priorities and multiple direction inputs, and able to sort out and manage the expectations of those various stakeholders.
Independent and able to quickly adapt to the cultural environment with minimal hand-holding. Has a natural sense of urgency.
