Job Description:
We are looking for a Scrum Master that has the leadership ability to be a CSC or Jedi Master without using a lightsaber to get successful results. We are emerging from a start-up and growing successfully and profitably to amazing new levels as an enterprise software company. If you have proven experience and faced handling complexity and chaos due to growth with Scrum and Kanban techniques. Talk to us about a role here to further your skills and take your career to the next level.
Agile Leadership ? Assisting how to shape our agile process to best serve our current multi-office, multi-time zone, multi-cultural operating reality. Continual analysis and planning to ensure our agile practices are world class and are always aligned with our operating reality as well as longer term strategic vision.
Hands-On Program Management ? Collaborate with Product Owners, development, QA, and UX team members in scrum to ensure that teams are following our defined best practices. Identify and remove impediments and help facilitate discussions for conflict resolution. This includes holding Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and Sprint Retrospective meetings.
Reporting and Communication ? Ensuring that we are utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPI?s) and agile data metrics to maximum effectiveness to proactively avoid problems during projects as well as post-project trending/analysis for process improvement. In addition to tracking and communicating team velocity, burn-down/burn-up metrics and sprint/release progress as well as updating scrum tracking tools to provide transparency on Product, Release, and Sprint Backlogs.
Basic Qualifications
+8 years experience, +2 years Scrum Master experience and have an impressive working knowledge of how Scrum works in real life ? not just idealistic academic knowledge.
Hands on program management experience in at least +2 different Scrum environments/companies. We need someone who has seen enough of the good, bad and ugly of Scrum implementations to have a proven success record as well as strong opinion about how to shape ours.
Familiarity with metrics, KPI?s, operations, and the complete product development lifecycle is required.
Expertise in both written and interpersonal communication, in relationship building, and in collaboration in a cross-functional team comprised of diverse personalities, skill sets and levels of experience.
Excellent organizational skills, focus, and attention to detail are a must, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, hectic, and energetic environment.
Ability to solve moderately complex problems.
Someone who can wear multiple hats and be strategic and tactical. This role is definitely not just a project manager/Scrum Master role, but involves a whole new level of process ownership and commitment to continual improvement.
Work with a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, product management, QA, engineering and technical support.
Experience working across multiple time zones and getting results out of off-shore teams (China & Poland).
Maintains composure in the face of highly fast paced environments and constant change.
Technical Bachelors Science degree or equivalent (Computer Science, Electircal Engineering, MIS, Computer Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with enterprise email and mobile technologies a plus.
Certified Scrum Professional or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is a plus.
Expertise or experience with the broad spectrum of agile tools in the market.
Proficiency with Rally is a plus
Culture Fit
You will be a key player in implementing company-wide best practices to promote process & quality improvement, more timely issue escalations through KPI?s as well as team/scrum and executive level reporting. You must be comfortable wearing many hats and be a tenacious problem solver that is results and schedule focused. You should be equally comfortable operating within well-defined processes as well as be able to deliver under less than ideal circumstances where things are chaotic and there is little to no process; can you manage through and quickly fix such situations? Candidate needs a bias for action and a combination of perseverance and patience. Must be an excellent English communicator who is comfortable interfacing with the entire organization at all levels.
