Summary:
The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible to actively promote, maintain and validate the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the organizational information assets in compliance with company security policies, standards and best practices. The Senior Security Engineer will work across functional/divisional lines to develop and implement Global IT Security strategies, policies, and procedures. Primary responsibility for managing significant IT Security strategic projects. In addition, they will participate in the development of the IT Security architectural strategies Qualification Requirements.
Under minimal supervision, carries out all phases of information systems/networks security program that involves access to computers and computerized data. Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management. Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.
Qualification Requirements:
Education: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, major or related field is required.
Experience:
2-4 years of IT Security including utilizing IT Security assessment tools.
10+ years of IT experience with demonstrated growth path.
Minimum of 10 years IT technical experience and 5 years of relevant information security experience.
Worked as a team and/or project lead.
Experience required in supporting both unclassified and classified networks.
Knowledge of common attack methodologies; common types of security vulnerabilities.
Planned and recommended long and short-range changes to the security architecture.
Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits.
Experience in securing Active Directory resources and Cisco technologies.
Experience with malware analysis.
Familiarity with various aspects and components of information security such as encryption methods/standards, real-time intruder detection, perimeter security, event correlation, authentication services, vulnerability analysis, and incident handling and forensics.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Experience or knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
Prior experience with Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and log management and database activity monitoring.
Prior experience in enterprise infrastructure.
Skills:
Review narratives and perform test of effectiveness for SOX compliance.
Must possess knowledge of SIEM technology, configuration, reporting, management, etc.
Be able to conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and audits.
Strong TCP/IP network engineering and architecture skills.
Working experience with two-factor authentication solutions.
Good working knowledge of tools such as Wireshark, Snort, Logger, Nessus, and NeXpose, or Metasploit.
Creates and maintains the enterprise security awareness training program.
License and Certifications:
CISSP and/or CISA certification
Security Clearance:
Be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A current clearance is a plus!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited, to, the following:
Ensures the proper operation of technology applications and equipment.
Develop security policies, procedures, and change management for network operations and business applications.
Develop the strategies to deploy effective application internal controls.
Conducts vulnerability assessments of information systems.
Performs incident response activities for security events.
Consults and provides information security expertise in support of various IT projects.
Review information security policies, standards, and procedures and create/revise policies and procedures as situations dictate to safeguard company systems and data.
Handle daily security related tasks, as well as projects as they are assigned.
Review IDS system traffic and recommend actions.
Creates and maintains the enterprise security awareness training program.
Resolves technology support issues for employees which may require desk-side assistance.
Present security status and project status to management.
Performs research and development on Information Security related topics.
Promote security awareness in the organization.
Participate in Tier 2 and Tier 3 operation support.
Other duties as assigned.
