Proofpoint?s core product is the Proofpoint Protection Server, a product that is available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) as well as an Appliance. For the team that makes this happen, it?s all about email and security and if you have the same passion, please continue reading.. the engineer we are looking for has a deep understanding of Perl but has also understanding of (or is willing to learn) Java and can work in an agile environment.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in developing innovative solutions using source technologies.
Demonstrated commitment hands-on technical excellence in design and development (this is not a hands-off lead/architect role)
Excellent design and implementation skills in Perl
Excellent knowledge of database technologies
Good knowledge of web servers
Ability to work well in a small, dynamic, disciplined team development environment
Flexibility to change approaches and projects when needed
University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Bonus Points:
Knowledge of email
Security experience
Contributed modules to cpan
Experience with Apache HTTP, modperl
Exposure to multiple programming languages and approaches
Experience with Java programming
