Senior Site Operation Engineer Genius
The Senior Site Operations Engineer knows about how the entire infrastructure works, is a domain expert on many of the components, and thrives in a fast-paced 24x7 environment with significant responsibility and minimal supervision. A hands-on role, the Site Ops Engineer can do all the things the Sys Admins and Network Engineers do and can coordinate and manage their activities during massive site traffic, projects and data center deployments.The Senior Site Operations Engineer has worked in high-volume, multi-regional LAMP sites, and is an expert on email delivery, PHP, scripting and automation, network operations and data-center-sized linux deployment and management.
Responsibilities:
Network management, including Cisco routing/switching/firewall/load balancers, BGP, OSPF, DNS
Infrastructure management, including Puppet, RHEL repository management, ControlTier, Hudson, Subversion
Web infrastructure, including Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, PHP, MySQL
Monitoring, including Nagios, Splunk, Rancid, Gomez
Qualifications
5 years solid systems management experience in 24x7 environments including system & network operations
3 years experience using application & network monitoring tools to identify, isolate, troubleshoot & resolve end-to-end application performance problems in a heterogeneous environment
Full understating of TCP/IP communications and experience in an all-IPv6 network
Previous experience with Puppet administration required
MySQL Administration experience
Strong scripting skills using Perl, Python, Ruby, and PHP
Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux
Experience with three or more of the following representative technologies: Puppet, Nagios, Splunk, Hudson, OpenLDAP, Kerberos, Cacti, Tivoli, CA
