Description:
This position involves developing and enhancing System Monitoring and Security compliance software. In addition, the position includes managing Linux/Unix security patches, writing/implementing security policies, and performing security audits. This position will involve on call rotation with other members of the Systems Monitoring and Security R esearch and Development team.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, Implement, Test, and Deploy System Monitoring components
Manage Linux/Unix security patches
Perform root cause analysis of production problems/issues
Work with external customers on their security scan requirements
Perform security audits/scans, analyze the reports, and recommend/implement defect eradication
Author and review security policies
Perform weekly on call rotations with other team members
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years experience working in IT, utilizing Network Security skills, Software Development, or Systems Administration
Minimum programming skills: 2 years scripting experience (e.g. Bash Shell, Perl, etc)
Nice to have programming skills: Java, JavaScript, Prolog,, C/C++, SQL
Operating System knowledge: Linux (prefer RedHat), Solaris 2.8, Windows XP
Networking protocol knowledge (must have): ssh, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP
Networking protocol knowledge (nice to have): SNMP, SMTP, LDAP
Security Software experience desired: AppScan, Nessus
Experience with PKI & X.509 certificate management
Experience with Linux/Unix security patch management, analysis of security scans and defect eradication
Experience with writing/implementing security policies
Experience with data center operations
Background and Education:
Bachelors in CS, EE or Math from an accredited 4 year university with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Security training and/or certifications (CISSP preferred); E2open willing to assist candidate obtain CISSP certification
