Position Summary:
Omni Water Solutions, a young startup company developing a semi-autonomous mobile water treatment platform for recycling water used in hydraulic fracturing, is looking for a talented and experienced software developer to join our team. This new position will focus on development of our remote monitoring capability and requires an individual with expertise in telemetry systems and experience developing and deploying software on real hardware. As part of a small software team within a fast-paced startup, the person we hire will also have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the software platform and directly impact the success of the company.
Essential Functions:
- Architect, design, implement, and test a remote monitoring system for a mobile water treatment platform includes:
- Supervisory control over platform operation at remote sites
- Automated status monitoring and alerts
- Web-based customer portal for operational performance reports
- Support for aggregation, logging, and analysis of run-time data
- Develop software on Programmable Logic Controllers and other industrial automation tools
- Become part of the team and contribute wherever necessary to achieve success
Ideal Qualifications:
- Well rounded software development background with 5-10 years of experience including
- Object Oriented Design
- Design Control Processes such as revision control, bug tracking, change management, etc.
- Team based development
- C++ fluency
- Specific experience and expertise with
- Telemetry systems
- SQL Databases (MySQL preferred)
- Web based applications
- GUI development
- Must demonstrate a record of responsibility and integrity in prior positions
- BS or graduate degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing and deploying software on real hardware and a willingness to get hands dirty.
- Willingness to work in a startup environment and adapt to changing needs and priorities
- Eagerness to learn new things
Other Beneficial Experience:
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience
- Embedded system development experience
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools
- Experience with industrial automation equipment and programming tools
- Experience with water purification systems
- Remote telemetry experience
