Position Description:As a senior member of the development team you will be first-amongst-equals in a group of highly talented and dynamic individuals doing cutting-edge work in virtualization and security. You will be challenged to think outside the box, multi-task and stay organized in a challenging work environment. You will be sought out for advice and will work closely with the management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development. As new virtualization technologies emerge and impact our security strategy, you will be expected to learn these technologies quickly and help design integration strategies with our systems.
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the design as well as development process. They must possess broad knowledge from web technologies to lower-level networking and be able to lead database performance profiling and optimization efforts.
The candidate can expect to:
Play a key role in defining database architecture and design;
Lead software performance profiling and optimization efforts;
Lead database performance profiling and optimization efforts utilizing technologies such as PostgreSQL or Oracle;
Work closely with other members of the team to help diagnose performance bottlenecks;
Collaborate in root cause analysis;
Create applications using primarily Python;
Skills and Core Requirements:
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent;
5+ years experience in software engineering;
Virtualization experience a plus;
Familiarity with C++/C;
Familiarity with Linux;
Python a plus;
Berkeley DB a plus;
Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills;
Excellent team working skills;
Strong networking knowledge;
