We seek a Senior Software Developer passionate about writing innovative software to solve business problems. In this key role you will design, develop, assess, and troubleshoot software applications and products. This includes determining use cases, architecting, designing, coding, unit testing, and documenting throughout the software project life cycle. Working with the latest proven Microsoft technology (C, VS 2008, WCF), you will implement new features, enhance and maintain existing functionality and develop new products under the direction of SmartSignal product development and marketing requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

-
2+ years of C coding experience or self-taught C with extensive C, C++, or Java work experience
-
Experience with Visual Studio 2008
-
Comfort level with iterative development and a demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team
-
Experience developing applications on Microsoft Windows
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Programming experience with SQL
-
Must be able to understand client business requirements and translate them to technical requirements
-
Ability to convert project specifications and requirements into logical designs for coding
-
Strong analytical and problem management skills and meticulous attention to detail
-
Must be passionate about good software and be able to show examples of source code
-
People who like to own their product and desire to solve problems for the long term, seeing things through to the end

Preference will be given for the following:

-
Commercial software development experience
-
Object-oriented (OO) development experience or understanding
-
Experience with internationalization
-
SQL clustering or server farms from a programming perspective, focused on scalability and reliability

WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)

EDUCATION

-
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; Relevant training a plus.
