Rover.com is seeking Senior Software Engineer to join our small team of existing developers. We're looking for a serious, experienced programmer who can elevate our team through knowledge sharing and mentorship.What's that mean? You're experienced with a broad array of technologies, have a long history of building consumer-facing web applications, and consider it your responsiblity to stay informed about the latest web technologies.
Rover is a Python/Django app running entirely on AWS. Expertise with Python/Django is preferred, but not a requirement because we believe that senior developers with broad experience have the ability to learn new frameworks quickly. Expertise with front-end technologies (HTML/JS/CSS) is important as well.
You have...
5+ years experience developing consumer web applications
Intimate familiarity with one or more MVC frameworks
Comfort with Python or a similar dynamic language
Strong computer science fundamentals
Deep understanding of web standards & frequently-used protocols
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent
You will?
Work closely in a small engineering team to make dog ownership easier
Ship code correctly and frequently (perhaps several times a day, via Jenkins CI)
Develop, optimize & deploy database-driven HTTP endpoints using Django on AWS
Integrate with fun third party APIs like Twilio, Animoto, Braintree
