Zillow, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer (multiple positions) for its Seattle, Washington office.JOB DESCRIPTION: Work in a small team, designing and implementing server software and backend services, written mainly in Java and/or C++ and running in a Linux environment, to power the Zillow website features geared towards our advertising products and tools and services for real estate professionals. Review the architecture and technologies with other senior developers and members of the test and operations team and plan for initial deployment, scaling and ongoing monitoring of features. Design and implement storage of information in database systems or other persistent stores, working closely with database administrators and database developers. Work closely with the Program Managers and Designers on the application experience and ensure that the server functionality meets the needs of the business requirements. Perform unit and some functional and integration tests on implemented software and work closely with the QA team to ensure that the entire feature is working at a level of completeness and quality to meet the business objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENT: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related occupation, including: 4 years of development experience in an object-oriented language (for example C#, C++, Java); 4 years of experience using Linux or other Unix OS or Windows Server; 4 years of experience performing test automation for functional and performance testing or writing unit test cases; 4 years of experience working as part of a team as well as independently and driving own projects; 4 years of experience developing software utilizing data structure and algorithmic design; and 2 years of experience using multi-tiered web service architecture or multi-component architecture in a non-web environment.
Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable, equivalent combination of education, experience, or training is acceptable, as are foreign equivalent degrees.
