Senior Software Engineer (Application Services) Proofpoint

We're seeking talented, motivated individuals to work with Proofpoint's hosted software products. You will be a key part of our engineering team responsible for design, development, and management of our multi-tenant distributed messaging systems. With over 3MM active users, 80TB of data, and 30MM messages delivered daily, join our team in building our large-scale applications in the cloud! The ideal candidate should be technically strong, communicate well, and have the ability to work independently in a distributed team environment;as we operate in a distributed team environment with resources in UT, CA, China, and India.Required Skills:
4+ years of objected-oriented programming experience
Solid OO skills in Java (C++ may be OK if you're willing to learn Java)
Relational DB knowledge (table and SQL query optimization)
Self-driven with ability to work independently
BSCS or equivalent
Experience managing HA cloud-based web applications is a strong plus
Desired Skills:
Email-specific domain knowledge (POP, IMAP, SMTP, Spam filtering)
Perl, MySQL experience
Linux/Unix shell scripting experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
