About the Job:Twilio is seeking a senior full stack engineer to work on JS based client SDKs for browsers as well as the backend gateways that support communication with the clients.
Responsibilities:
Build JavaScript based client SDK that works across a range of browsers using variety of media technologies such as Flash, webRTC, etc. Build new models as Twilio?s IP based client technology evolves.
Build rich clients as proof-of-concept implementations of Twilio powered applications.
Build server side components that communicate with browser and other device based clients
Participate in Agile scrum process
Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous integration and deployment.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional software development experience developing messaging solutions.
Deep experience in: Browser client development using JavaScript/CSS/ HTML5, Browser Document Object Model (DOM), HTTP and HTTPS protocols. Issues related to cross-browser compatibility. Server side development on LAMP stack.
Highly desirable: Knowledge of Flash based media delivery in browsers, ActionScript
Willingness and agility to work a range of with multiple scripting and server programming languages to get the job done. Knowledge of Python and/or Java is ideal.
Strong communication Skills. Experience standing in front of non- technical audiences and explaining technical issues.
Proven ability to work on closely knit teams using Agile tools for tracking progress, issues, etc. Practices Test Driven Development.
