Senior Software Engineer - TapCommerce

TapCommerce is venture-backed mobile technology company, based in the Union Square neighborhood of New York City. We are helping leading brands to sell more to their customers on smartphones and tablets. Our goal is to make mobile shopping an amazing experience, from discovery to purchase.
TapCommerce is looking for Senior Software Engineers to join us full time. We have many very interesting technical problems to solve in areas like big data, machine learning, distributed computing and high availability. You'll gain exposure to cutting edge technologies and have a chance to make a huge impact on a growing business.
More about what we're looking for:
Strong programming skills, particularly when it comes to Java
The ability to quickly pick up and run with new technologies
Experience in developing server-side technologies like APIs and web apps
Knowledge of, or a keen interest in, the mobile technology space
Strong communication skills
B.S. in Computer Science or related field
Nice to have skills, but not required skills:
Big data technologies like Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive and NoSQL
Building, architecting, or developing high-volume, low-latency systems
Experience or interest in data mining and machine learning
AWS or other cloud server platforms
Experience administering Linux servers
Willingness to lose gracefully at ping-pong
