Senior Software Engineer: Email Engineering Etsy

Etsy is looking for experienced software developers that can help build an ambitious system to provide highly targeted communications to our members (lots and lots and lots of them).

About the Position

At Etsy we want to be able to provide the best possible experience to our users and part of this experience is personalized content and communications. We are looking for somebody to help us build software that can reach out to buyers and sellers based on their preferences, behaviors and tastes. This presents an opportunity to create something technically exciting and important to not only a great company but also to millions of users.

The customers for this position are not just Etsy?s buyers and sellers. The successful candidate will be dealing directly with the PR and Marketing teams so the ability to turn conversations into software is important.

About You

You should have some code published on the internet (such as GitHub) or be able to provide us with samples.
Although we primarily code in PHP, knowledge of it is not essential. However current use of at least two programming languages is important (such as PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, Java, C, C++).
Active practitioner of Test Driven Development (with PHP would be a real bonus).
Several years experience in a web development environment.
