Senior Software Engineer - Embedded BIAP

Description:
We are looking for a strong C/C++ developer who has a desire not only to design and code, but also to work with standards bodies to support our viewpoint. In this position, you will interface regularly with CableLabs, an industry standards body. You will evaluate engineering changes that come in against what we can support internally. You will also write new engineering change requests to better represent our viewpoint. You will also participate in design and development of our industry-standard EBIF user agent.
This position requires strong technical skills and experience along with the desire and ability to work within a talented engineering team. It also requires skills to interface with other companies in our industry on a highly technical level.
Previous cable set-top development experience and/or experience with EBIF is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the overall success of the Engineering team and FourthWall Media
Continue design and development of our industry-leading EBIF user agent
Represent FourthWall Media to various working groups in CableLabs, including the ETV Working Group
Provide EBIF expertise internally and externally
Document software design
Review software design
Some travel required
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
At least five years software development experience
Strong programming experience with C/C++
Understanding and appreciation for high quality code and associated best practices
Must be team-player with solid communication skills, strong time-management, creative problem solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and fast paced environment
Previous set-top and/or EBIF development experience preferred
Programming experience in any of the following areas would be a plus:
TV software (including PowerTV, OpenTV, GIOS, VxWorks, VRTX, OCAP, EBIF)
Interactive TV data transport formats (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, OpenStreamer, DSM-CC)
IP Networking (UDP/TCP-IP)
Internet protocols such as HTTP and FTP.
