Senior Software Engineer, Engine Manageability Nominum
Summary:Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer, Engine Manageability is responsible for providing support in the functional areas of product manageability, which may include the design and enhancement of new and existing MIBs, implementing new methods in the SNMP agent code, as well as enhance and improve other management aspects of the core engines. This would include error reporting and messages, refactoring of the event system and triggered alerts. This will involve all levels of our N2 platform.
Responsibilities:
The design and implementation of new features based on manageability requirements across all products. Coordinate feature development with the QA team and release engineering. Respond to trouble reports and diagnose, debug and fix critical issues. Work with customers and product managers to develop product requirements. Work with documentation and marketing team to create and review the creation of white papers and product manuals.
Qualifications:
Expertise with C/C++/Java, with knowledge of Python a plus
Basic knowledge of DNS protocol
Basic knowledge of SNMP protocol
Extensive knowledge of network programming on Linux based OS?s
Outstanding organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in the software product development lifecycle
Clear written and oral communication skills
Education and/or Experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.
2+ years of experience in software design and development in networking applications
