SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - HADOOP NextBio

Position Overview/Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing web applications using Hadoop. This person will collaborate closely with other engineers to help grow and scale the NextBio platform.
Requirement Experience:

5 years developing scalable web applications on a Unix-based platform.
Extensive experience working with Hadoop to build and support data intensive applications.
In-depth knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies.
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative development environment.

Pluses:

Experience with Lucene, LingPipe, Solr.
Experience with AWS.
Strong understanding of distributed software applications, including scalability, performance, and reliability aspects.
Experience working with various open source technologies.
Strong background in design patterns and OOD.
Experience with Agile development.
