Position Overview
Operative is looking for talented and experienced engineers who have a passion for solving big data problems. Operative deals with large volumes of data from ad server logs required to implement ad inventory management solutions. We use a combination of Hadoop, NoSql, relational and multi-dimensional technologies to solve this problem. We are looking for engineers who are currently implementing Hadoop and NoSql solutions but also have a sound grounding in relational technologies. You will be part of a talented and energetic team of software developers. You will have the opportunity to make significant contribution to current and future versions of Operative?s platform ? Operative.One.
Job Responsibilities:
Apply Hadoop, relational and other appropriate technology to solve big data problems
Be the MapReduce and NoSql expert on the team
Ability to identify problems, debug issues and implement solutions.
Proactive thinker with a proven ability to research and implement high performance data management solutions
Requirements/Skills:
Deep understanding of MapReduce and NoSql implementations
Strong expertise in using relational technologies in highly concurrent applications
Experience with production Hadoop-based implementations is required
Must be familiar with the Hadoop ecosystem of products like HBase, Hive and Pig
Must be aware of ETL patterns for Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Scoop
Must have performed performance tests to achieve benchmarks against SLAs
Hands on and must be able to code and deliver solutions apart from architecture and mentoring
Strong programming skills preferably in Java
BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science
7+ years? experience. At least 1-1.5 years of current experience working with Hadoop
