Senior Software Engineer - Healthcare Liaison Technologies

Liaison Solutions for Healthcare provide integration and data management services on premise or in the cloud targeting providers, payers, life sciences (pharmaceutical and bio-technology) and health information exchange (HIE/RHIO) organizations.

As part of the Development team, you will work on innovative initiatives relating to integration, harmonization and management of healthcare systems and data. The Senior Software Engineer will enhance existing Java/J2EE application components, build new ones, and collaborate with other team members on the design and development of new applications focused for the health IT space. The individual will be part of the development team working on fast-tracked projects, and will collaborate with product management and professional services to provide creative solutions, while utilizing strong problem-solving skills to continuously meet customer and prospect needs.

This role presents the opportunity to take the lead on analysis, design, programming, and testing, thus enhancing your skills and capabilities. The individual will report to the Development Manager and will work with a strong, technically-adept and supportive team.
Responsibilities

Actively participate in story workshops to gather requirements, identify technical opportunities and ultimately innovate new or enhance existing product capabilities
Design and develop product capabilities based on stories, industry specification or refactoring of existing capabilities
Incorporate quality into all aspects of the product development lifecycle. This includes considerations for automated unit test coverage and continuous integration
Work to deliver solutions on-time and within budget
Pro-actively identify ways to improve the products and our processes, and help make them the best
Although there will be some supervision with this position, you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work independently to overcome even the most complex challenges

Required Skills

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience programming in the following technologies: Java
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing enterprise solutions in Java
Experience within the healthcare domain
Hands-on experience using Java EE: EJBs, Servlets, JSPs, JMS, Web Services, JSON web services, JAXB, Persistence frameworks, JFC, JBoss Seam
Hands-on experience with development tools: Eclipse, Ant, source control tools such as CVS or Subversion.
Experience with the following:
J2EE app servers (JBoss preferred)
Servlet containers (Tomcat preferred)
SQL, Database Management, Object Oriented Databases
Shell scripting and/or Perl experience
XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
User Interface Design and Development, AJAX
Experience with threaded programming
Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Resourceful self-starter with a willingness to learn various technical skills
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
