About the job:
We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to support the next phase of Twilio's Voice platform.
You will work in a team on high performance, high availability and real-time systems deployed across data centers around the world. We are looking for someone who can code everyday but also make significant architectural decisions within a team of highly motivated developers.
Participate in designing and architecting software solutions that span datacenters around the globe.
Build high performance, scalable, real-time, server-side technologies that consume a variety of network protocols.
Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment with source control, dev/stage/production release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience building scalable, highly-available service oriented architectures.
Deep experience of server-side programming using Java and multi-threaded programming.
Deep understanding of the IP networking stack and HTTP.
Knowledge of REST based services.
Knowledge of Linux/Solaris concepts, developer and networking tools.
Self starter with ability to work in closely knit teams using Agile tools for planning and tracking progress, issues, etc.
Strong communication skills. Experience of standing in front of non-technical audiences and explaining technical issues.
Knowledge of VoIP using SIP/RTP and Audio codecs.
Experience in developing real-time communications systems.
You know your way around build/deployment tools such as Maven, Chef and Jenkins.
Front-end experience, visualizing and making your service interactive through a web-based front end.
