Senior Software Engineer: Mobile Vertafore, Inc.
The Mobile development team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of our hybrid mobile development framework, solve challenging technical problems, demonstrate good patterns and practices and build great mobile apps that our customers will love. Share your experience and insight with team members, recommend improvements to user experience and advocate for doing things the right way from the start.
Participate in the design and development of key architectural aspects of Mobile.
Be responsible for designing and developing key front-end features.
Build modular frameworks, design efficient solutions and write elegant code.
Factor into your work scalability, availability, security, deployment and integration.
Lead and actively participate on a Scrum team, helping to complete any tasks.
Provide fact-based estimates for user stories and assigned tasks.
Create use cases, technical specifications, release notes, and other documentation for application functionality as needed.
Research functional issues and develop solutions to the problems.
Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
Research new technology or development tools to remain current.
5+ years of relevant experience in web and/or mobile development.
Experience using jQuery and other frameworks (YUI, Dojo, etc?)
Experience working in mobile app development.
Experience building and deploying mobile apps.
Experience with SCM using SVN, GIT or CVS.
Experience consuming and publishing to web services from the front-end.
Experience with Phonegap and native development for iOS or Android preferred.
Recent experience with Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
Ability to champion good design methodologies and patterns.
Capable of quickly troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving issues that arise during development or in production.
Ability to work with both onshore and offshore development teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with other product developers, business analysts, testing specialists and product owners to create stellar software products.
