We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to assume a key role in developing our large scale, distributed infrastructure. We are rapidly expanding delivery of our big data analytics and advertising services for the booming mobile app marketplace, so here?s your chance to join us and make significant contributions to current and future versions of Flurry's platform as part of a dedicated engineering team.You will be able to develop your expertise in leading-edge technologies as you implement elegant software solutions for big data applications and have the opportunity to contribute back to the open source community. You?ll display your skills building, maintaining, and troubleshooting a robust, scalable platform across a vast array of nodes. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned software and systems engineer with a passion for reliability, availability, consistency, security and high performance.
Requirements
You should have experience in developing optimized services and in processing very large data sets. You should have expertise in systems design, implementation, and troubleshooting through the entire systems stack, from hardware to OS to application tier. You must be capable of managing your time well and working efficiently and independently. You believe in deeply understanding systems so you can effectively tune performance and address issues. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
Minimum 8 years professional experience.
5 years solid experience building, configuring, and monitoring highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
Expertise in developing high-quality, object-oriented code in Java or C++ deployed on Linux/Unix.
Well-versed in highly scalable solutions in data storage, analysis and reporting for large-scale, distributed data sets.
Strong system and application troubleshooting and performance tuning skills (Hardware, Linux, Networking, JVMs, etc.).
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (Masters or PhD a plus).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Plus Requirements
Solid understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, HBase, MapReduce, ZooKeeper, etc.) including technical implementation details.
Wide-ranging experience across a diverse array of platforms and programming languages.
