Axeda Corporation, the leading cloud platform and applications company for enabling connected products, is seeking a top-notch Senior Software Engineer to take on an unparalleled technical opportunity in the development of Axeda's software solutions. In this position, you will provide hands-on technical leadership and interact with support and customers in the design and implementation of state-of-the-art performance and scale-enhancing solutions.Responsibilities/Duties:
Lead the team in designing and implementing customer-requested product features and enhancements
Lead the team in analysis of incoming high priority issues and develop patches and/or enhancements to resolve customer's technical issues in an efficient and responsive manner
Deliver full lifecycle feature development: requirements analysis, design and production code implementation with accompanying unit and integration tests
Collaborate with customers, product owners, support, QA and other stakeholders on functional and non-functional requirements in order to deliver the appropriate solution
Participate in release, sprint and daily planning activities to align engineering efforts with business goals
Mentor junior team members and assist them with the implementation of chosen technologies
Provide hands-on coding expertise in a variety of platforms and languages
Build the simplest solution that meets business needs
Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills:
Expert in designing and delivering enterprise scale applications for J2EE application servers such as JBoss and WebLogic
Proven proficiency defining, architecting and implementing complex software systems
Hands-on Java coding expertise on both Windows and Linux platforms
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and enterprise application patterns
Strong knowledge of RDBMS and PL/SQL with Oracle as preferred experience
Able to rapidly learn new technologies and product features
Proven effectiveness in mentoring junior developers
Proficient with standard Java development tools such as: Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven, Ant, Subversion, CruiseControl/Jenkins, and JUnit
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Spring and Hibernate is a plus
Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions is a plus
