Software Engineer performs product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support on applications software projects which may require research and analysis. May assist in performing on-site client work. Operates under minimal supervision.Professional and Technical Competencies
Perform somewhat complex product design, system analysis, and programming activities on applications software which may require some research.
Perform design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems.
Participate in product design meetings.
Perform complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions to the problems.
Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
May assist in performing on-site client work on complex applications.
Use Object Oriented programming techniques and relational database design to develop scalable and highly available systems.
Use a source control system to add, change and merge source code.
Comply with programming standards and participates in code reviews.
In absence of product architects, serve as a product architect.
Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives.
Write design documents.
Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
Position Requirements
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for consideration, visa sponsorship not available.
Must hold Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Four to five years of experience in software design or product support.
Familiar with agile methodology.
Understands good user interface design and usability principles.
Thorough technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product level.
Excellent skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
Good working knowledge of jQuery or extJS, CSS, HTML5, ASP.NET, and MVC.
Solid experience with C# or equivalent programming languages.
Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Advanced PC skills.
