Role
Pascal Metrics has an immediate opening for a software engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Georgetown, Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have experience developing web applications with open-source software and a passion for writing beautiful code.
If you love to crank out code for fun, contribute to open source projects in your spare time, or can otherwise demonstrate a passion for cutting-edge software development, we'd love to hear from you.
What We're Looking For
- Self-motivated, prolific Engineers who enjoy working within small teams, and who take pride and interest in their craft beyond just the job description
- Self-motivated, prolific software developers able to work effectively in a small team
- Familiarity with principles of Object-Oriented design and development
- Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by a competitive startup mentality
- Extensive experience with Java web-applications, J2SE specifications and associated open source frameworks
- In-depth understanding of Hibernate, JPA & Spring Framework
- Programmers with pride and interest in their craft beyond the day job
What We'd Like To See (i.e. Pluses)
- Experience designing complex data visualizations
- Experience with Spring Security, PlayFramework, MongoDB, Esper, or HAPI
- Understanding of and ability to practice scalable design
- Appreciation for scrum and similar agile development methodologies
- User Interface and Experience junkies with jQuery or Actionscript expertise
- Familiarity with mobile application development for the iPhone, Android, or Blackberry
- Exposure to principles of risk management and quantitative analysis
