The Role:
The web team at Blurb enables people all over the globe to buy, sell and share books seamlessly through the Blurb platform. We delight our customers through efficient interaction across our entire multi-channel Blurb.com offering. As a senior member of this agile team, you will be responsible for collaborating and innovating on cutting edge features while shipping scalable products to our expansive worldwide customer base.
Our technology stack is cutting edge and we use many tools and processes to speed development and ensure quality. A sampling of technology we use daily include: Rails, Ruby, Redis, PostgreSQL, Coffeescript, JQuery, SASS, RSpec, Cucumber, Github.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibility as senior software engineer will be to define, scope, architect and implement scalable solutions for our ecommerce platform. You will work closely with our operations and product teams to craft elegant solutions to complex problems. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our robust ecommerce platform which facilities all aspects of printer routing, shipping, order fulfillment and customer support to our worldwide customer base.
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent education plus work experience
Expert backend object-oriented programmer (e.g. Ruby, Python, Java)
Expert knowledge building web applications
Experience developing RESTful web services
A working knowledge of Agile Development practices
Great team player
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
