Job Description
Do you like working on the latest technologies, and have an eye for clean and simple architecture? Do you take pride when new capabilities are added to products while seamlessly melding into the existing architecture?
We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our tablet terminal emulation team and drive the development of groundbreaking new products for the post-pc era. The right candidate will be a strong team player and will work with other engineers, with test, user experience, technical support, and technical writing staff, to ensure we have best architecture to address the mobile terminal emulation market.
Attachmate?s terminal emulation products lead the industry, with tens of millions of users across the globe, and a customer base that includes most of the Fortune 500. Our customers love our advanced security and privacy features, application integration features for Office and the Web, and the industry?s richest set of APIs for developers. All this innovation is built on top of rock solid terminal emulation engines that simply do the job better than anything else on the market.
This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to our flagship products, and drive the development of our on-device mobile applications. We?re a close knit, agile team, focused on moving quickly and doing what?s required to deliver value, so flexibility and collaboration are highly prized. Day to day activities include designing and implementing key architectural elements, leading a group of software engineers and SDETs to develop components in a test-driven manner. We also take time to learn and have fun, enjoying each other?s company and priming the creative pump with programs like our book groups, and Friday Festivus gatherings.
Requirements
Proven leadership skills
Strong architectural background with significant experience in multi-layer networking products.
At least 10 years industry experience in all phases of software development.
Proven experience quickly learning new technologies.
Experience developing in Objective-C, C++, C# and Java
Experience with modern development strategies such as: Test-Driven Development, Design Patterns, Unit Testing, and Mocking.
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated industry work experience.
Desirable:
Experience with mobile portability strategies / frameworks.
Experience with networking / security technologies: SSL, SSH, PKI, Telnet, FTP
Knowledge of host environments: IBM, UNIX, OpenVMS, Unisys
