Senior Software Engineer - Server Development MobiTV

Team members will be responsible for extending MobiTV's compatibilities to wireless networks all over the world and evolving the product to stay one step ahead of the competition. Candidates for this job work on the server components of the MobiTV service. As a senior software engineer, you will be responsible for developing our next generation product using a variety of technologies, languages, and development environments. You will work on server software obtaining visibility into a wide range of technologies and end to end view of the system.
Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement features of MobiTV products
• Design product features and present them to engineering and other groups
• Develop algorithms that are efficient, maintainable, extensible, easy to understand, and according to best development practices
• Work closely with QA team to help define proper testing techniques, review the plans, correct product defects and assist QA engineers in test strategy
• Assist the Deployment, Operations, and Sales teams with the investigation and resolution of customer issues
• Work closely with technical writers to ensure detailed product documents are maintained

Experience and Education:

• 2-6 years of hands-on coding experience in server side infrastructure
• Apache
• HTTP/ 1.1
• Python
• RESTful web services
• Agile development
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Preferred experience in the following areas:

• Java
• J2EE
• Servlets
• Tomcat
• SQL (Oracle preferred)
• JDBC
• Spring
• Hibernate
• Deliver enterprise class web and/or wireless products
• Strong current Unix/Linux skills
• Experience working with constrained devices and platforms is a plus
• Solid communication skills, creative problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong time-management and independent-judgment skills required
