Summary
Responsible for software planning, configuration, and integration for new platform development.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for software planning, configuration, integration for new platform development
Work with third-party firmware and driver providers on delivery, quality, trouble-shooting, problem isolation, debugging, and WHQL
Work with hardware providers on specific architectural issues related to the Tablet PC?s unique platform requirements
Application-level development experience and expertise in Windows programming models, development environments including the DDK and SDK
Assist in developing detailed schedules
Assist in strategic planning
Assist in component selection
Manage firmware and BIOS development, deliveries, feature set, quality with ODM EC and BIOS development teams.
QualificationsandExperience
Experience and Education Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 8 years of experience or a Masters Degree with at least 5 years of experience
Experience in development and testing PC hardware/software with peripheral equipment and MS compatible SW; portable experience preferred
Specific expertise in Intel Mobile Architectures, vPro, AMT, and other Intel extensions including BIOS, UEFI, and ACPI implementation details and requirements
Expertise in at least one or more additional PC technologies such as Barcode Readers, Smart Card Readers, RFID, USB, Biometrics highly desireable
Experience working with remote development teams
Experience with the Windows development platform, debugger, and programming model
Experience in Portable Computer design highly desirable
Must have experience working with marketing, operations and other engineering teams
Must have experience working with ODMs
Knowledge of ACPI, CPU and system thermal management a plus
Able to debug and isolate system and component level problems and determine root cause
Must be capable of documenting test results clearly, concisely and quickly
Experience in computer architect design
Strong technical knowledge of mobile PC interfaces (USB , Card Bus, Mini-PCI, IEEE 1394)
Capable of working in fast paced, multi-disciplined, ambiguous work environment
Strong communication skills
