JOB DESCRIPTION:Will utilize technical skills and leadership experience to lead a small team of software engineers in defining, designing and developing key software components of the company?s healthcare enterprise software products. Applying knowledge and experience with Java/J2EE development, object-oriented analysis and design, Service-oriented architectures using synchronous Web services and asynchronous messaging, SQL programming, relational databases, Java application servers and open source Spring, Hibernate, Quartz Scheduler, JUnit and Jasper Reporting technologies, will engineer and implement new product features for Java Enterprise applications. Will exercise technical, architectural and project ownership for several functional subsystems, collaborating with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Customer Support and Implementation Services to develop and deliver high-quality products in a timely manner. Will leverage past experience in designing and developing high-volume enterprise class healthcare software in the Managed Care domain involving HIPAA electronic data interchange code set standards such as X12-270/271, X12-278, etc. to mentor and guide the team in the development of industry-standard interoperable software. Will continuously evolve and foster a culture of software excellence: architecture, design, coding standards, testing, patterns, automation, tools, etc. Will report to the Chief Technology Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible work experience working as a Software Engineer/Developer or a closely related occupation developing Java enterprise software applications.
Seven years development experience must include the following:
5 years of software development experience with Java, JavaScript, Eclipse, J2EE technologies such as JSP, EJB, JMS, JTA, JDBC, JAXB, JAXP, etc., one or more of the following Java application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere and JBoss, one or more of the following relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server and DB2, and one or more of the following version control systems: CVS, Visual Source Safe, Subversion and Rational ClearCase
3 years of development experience programming covering the following open source technologies: Spring Framework, Hibernate, Quartz Scheduler, Jasper Reports, and JUnit.
1 year experience developing Web services for integrating with applications compliant with HIPAA electronic data interchange code set standards such as X12-270/271, X12-278, etc. using XML, SOAP and WSDL is required.
Will accept as an alternative a Master?s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, and 5 years of development experience including the experience listed above.
