Senior Software Engineer High Throughput Genomics

Contributes to the definition and timely achievement of overall project goals.
Participates or leads in efforts to define new components, products or processes.
Designs, plans and executes project related tasks.
Designs and executes experiments to test hypothesis related to project outcomes.
Applies advanced engineering knowledge to projects.
Independently designs and executes tests and experiments.
Interfaces with hardware, software, and systems engineers to evaluate test alternatives.
Utilizes DOE as appropriate.
Establishes interfaces across other organizational groups.
Teaches others and troubleshoots problems.
Participates in project planning, process updates and contributes to design.
Prepares and delivers presentations of project results to others; presents data to larger and more diverse audiences.
Applies functional expertise routinely on the job.
Applies debugging, coding, and analytical problem solving skills to identify and solve technical challenges.
Ability to produce tangible results against ambiguous requirements and conditions
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with relentless focus on getting things done
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical degree
5 ? 8 years software programming experience
Understanding of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and design control principles
Understands and uses the foundational practices for requirements management, development and analysis.
Understanding of hardware design and testing
Understands and uses the foundational processes and practices for SW planning.
Understands good coding practices and applies to assignments.
Understands good software testing practices for SW integration and test.
Knowledge in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition.
Proficiency in Object Orientation C++/ C# programming and modular software design is needed.
Proficiency in shell scripts or Python development
Proficiency with Software development tools such as SVN and MS Visual Studio.
Extensive work experience in Quality Processes for the development
Whitebox testing experience at the unit, integration and system levels
Strong understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
Real world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality
Experience with continuous integration and testing
Detail oriented and organized, passionate about good software
