About the Job:
Twilio is seeking a senior server side engineer to work on backend for its voice stack. You will develop and operationalize highly available, and scalable services running in the cloud. You will work on a small, empowered team of engineers and product manager working in an agile environment.
Participate in design and architecture of software solutions
Build server side technologies using open source software
Write Maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment with source control, dev/stage/production release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment.
Provide operational support of voice services in production.
5+ years of professional software development experience developing distributed systems.
Deep understanding of IP networking stack, HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
Experience building scalable, highly available, distributed systems. Programming using multithreading, concurrency.
Experience on Linux/Solaris, with Java and C/C++. Python experience is nice to have.
Knowledge of VOIP using SIP/RTP and Audio codecs is a bonus.
Strong communication skills. Experience standing in front of non-technical audiences and explaining technical issues.
Self starter with ability to work on closely knit teams using Agile tools for tracking progress, issues, etc.
