We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager
DataDirect Networks is adding a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager in our Sunnyvale Campus in California. This role will be responsible for people and technology leadership and the development of our mid-range filer product. The ideal candidate will need to be very familiar with storage and networking technologies as it relates to parallel and networked file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, NFS/PNFS, CIFS, Webdav. Working knowledge of object storage stacks such as OpenStack, S3 is also a plus. This Senior Engineering manager will need to drive the proper integration with 3rd party infrastructure and standards for backup; Vmware/hyperV integration, monitoring, etc.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Provide technology leadership and expertise focusing on storage
Work with the product management team to design and develop a roadmap of mid-range storage products
Manage, hire and train a globally distributed team of engineers
Plan and execute on the product roadmap of our networked file system solution
Qualifications for this role include:
Proven experience managing a large development team (20+)
A minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience as a people manager
Management of globally distributed team preferred
Expertise in network file system and cloud storage technologies
Storage industry experience is required
BA/MA of Science or related is preferred
Must keep up-to-date with technology trends through a review of industry information, participation in technology conferences, etc.
Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and prioritization skills
Stellar written and verbal communication skills are required
