About the Job:Twilio is seeking a senior backend engineer to work on building upon our messaging infrastructure that powers our fast growing carrier messaging product line
Responsibilities:
Design and Develop cloud based high-availability services that enable timely, and reliable delivery of messages using queue architecture.
Participate in Agile scrum process
Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous integration and deployment.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional software development experience developing messaging solutions.
Deep experience in Messaging protocols (such as SMPP, MM1, MM4), Webservice protocols (HTTP/REST), Implementing software persistence using relational or non-relational databases, Pub-Sub application model.
Excellent problem solving skills needed to build and maintain complex software
Good understanding of IP networking stack (TCP, UDP), Concurrent programming using Threads or Event callbacks.
Highly Desirable: Experience developing software as Cloud based services, Scaling solutions to millions of users.
Willingness to work a range of mobile and server programming languages to get the job done. Knowledge of Python and/or Java is ideal.
Strong communication Skills. Experience standing in front of non- technical audiences and explaining technical issues.
Proven ability to work on closely knit teams using Agile tools for tracking progress, issues, etc. Practices Test Driven Development.
